In honor of Earth Day last month, we wanted to re-use materials that you
can find around the house. This is a great spring themed craft to make to for a
decorative display or as a gift for Mother’s Day. Now let us begin making these
colorful egg carton butterflies!
Supplies:
- Egg Carton
- Scissors
- Kwik Stix Neon Colors
- Pipe Cleaners
- String
Directions:
1. Start by cutting out the cups out of
the egg carton. Next you’ll cut a slit in the middle of each point like the
image below so that after the slits are cut you’ll be able to lay the cup
flat
2. Next you’ll flatten down the carton
like the image above, and trim around each point to give it the shape of a
butterfly wing.
3. Next grab your desired Kwix Stix
color, preferably the brighter the better! Beginning coloring the bodies of egg
carton. Once they’re dried (only takes 90 seconds) you can take the pipe
cleaners and twist them around your egg carton cups that you’ve painted to make
the body of the butterfly, leaving two antennas on top.
